RBHA BOARD MEETING The Rehoboth Beach Homeowners’ Association is holding a Board meeting on Saturday, August 20, 2005 at the Epworth United Methodist Church on Baltimore Avenue. A business meeting will start at 8:00 am and will include a discussion of the outcome of the City’s election. At 9:00 am City Commissioner Kathy McGuiness, Chair of the Parks & Shade Tree Committee, will highlight ongoing action to develop a new tree ordinance. Everyone is welcome to attend. VOTE Please remember our City elections are Saturday, August 13, 2005 at City Hall, 10 am to 6 pm. There are two mayoral and four Commissioner candidates [for two seats]. CITY MEETINGS Two meetings of significance were held last week. The first in a series of meetings regarding the City’s Comprehensive Development Program (CDP) took place Monday August 1, 2005. The CDP Implementation Oversight Committee met to work out procedural details and schedule future meetings. Presently, the group includes two Commissioners—Richard Sargent and Patrick Gossett—Ron Paterson, Chair of the Planning Commission, and consultant Kyle Gulbronson. The City’s Park & Shade Tree Commission met Tuesday, August 2, 2005. It paved the way for consideration of a new Tree Ordinance drafted by Kyle Gulbronson. Kathy McGuiness, Chair, distributed the proposed ordinance at the Commission meeting; it may be seen at the RBHA website: http://www.rbhomeowners.com/documents/MicrosoftWord-050802TreeOrd.pdf. For your information, further meetings on this matter have been scheduled for Tuesday, August 23, 2005, 10:00am, Tuesday, September 13, 2:00pm, and Tuesday September 27, 2005, 10:00am.
SOLA3 The folks at SOLA3 have asked us to pass along the following invitation You are invited to join SAVE OUR LAKES ALLIANCE3 (SOLA3) for an end-of-summer "Wastin' Away" Party. Watch the sun set over Silver Lake and the moon rise over the Atlantic, sip tropical concoctions, feast on a divinecocktail buffet and listen to fabulous beach music favorites – what could be more fun!! It’s Saturday, August 27, 2005, from five to seven o'clock at the home of John and Bryn Burke, 8 East Lake Drive, Rehoboth Beach. All proceeds will benefit SOLA3, a 501 (c) (3) organization with a mission to maintain and protect Lake Gerar, Silver Lake and Lake Comegys. Dress is island casual; please park on King Charles, Queen or Prospect Streets. There is no parking on East Lake Drive. RSVP by August 20. Party limited to first 100 responses.
