OCTOBER 20 GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
RBHA’s Annual General Membership meeting will be held Saturday, October 20,
2007 at 10:00 am at All Saints Episcopal Church, 18 Olive Avenue.

The meeting will feature a “Public Discussion of Wastewater Alternatives.”
This will be a roundtable exchange of ideas and positions by advocates of
the various options.  The City is scheduling a Public Hearing on the matter
for November 6, 2007.  So, you won’t want to miss this important
introduction to the significant decision the City is about to make.  What
are the expenses we may face?  Is ocean outfall an environmentally
appropriate decision?  Will Sussex County partner with the City?  If so,
will the County’s discharge be as “clean” as the City’s wastewater?  Several
noted experts have been invited to participate, including local, county and
state government representatives and officials from private industry.

On the business side of the agenda a new Board member will be elected.  Greg
Gause is standing for the lone vacancy on the Board.  In addition, the
budget will be formally presented to the general membership.

CITY EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION COFFEE
This is a reminder that RBHA will host an appreciation coffee for city
employees and firefighters on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 from 8:00 am to
10:00 am at the Convention Center.  We are looking for some help by people
who can provide baked goods.  It would also be nice if you could stop by in
person to say thank you.  Call Sonja Decker at 302- 227-7824 to donate baked
goods.  Please respond by Monday October 8th.

PLANNING COMMISSION MEETINGS (CORRECTION)
Because the City Offices will be closed in observation of the holidays, both
the October and November regular meetings of the Planning Commission are
scheduled for Tuesday [rather than the normal Monday].  Therefore, the next
regular Planning Commission meeting will be on TUESDAY, October 9th.  The
next meeting is scheduled for TUESDAY, November 13th.  The most recent RBHA
Newsletter inadvertently identified the normal meeting dates.

SUSSEX COUNTY CDP

Pal Littleton, RBHA member and Chair of the city’s Planning Commission, alerted us to an update of the Sussex County CDP.  Pal notes that the information includes a 16 page summary of Sussex County's draft CDP. He goes on to say that knowledge of this link may be of use to RBHA and/or its individual members who may wish to offer comments on the County's draft plan.  You may access it at, http://www.sussexcountyde.gov/compplan/index.cfm.
