Rehoboth Beach Homeowners' Association
NEWS FROM THE RBHA MARCH 14, 2006
RBHA Board Meeting The Rehoboth Beach Homeowners’ Association is holding a Board meeting on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at the All Saints Episcopal Church at 18 Olive Street. The meeting will start at 9:00 am and will feature further discussion of the relationship between members of the commercial district and residents of the community. In addition, member Dave Ronovech will report on discussions of an ad hoc group studying litter, debris and trash around town. Everyone is welcome to attend. New Commissioner, New Solicitor Patti Shreeve will be sworn in as a Commissioner at Monday’s (3/20/6) regular Board of Commissioners meeting to fill out the unexpired term of Richard Sargent, long-time Commissioner and Vice Mayor. Commissioner Sargent said in his March 11, 2006, letter of resignation, "I have recently started working in Virginia developing computer software for various state and federal agencies involved with Homeland Security. I have always believed that each Commissioner should spend a significant amount of time in Rehoboth throughout the year. Although I have taken a contract position and I will maintain my residency in Rehoboth, I believe that I will not be able to spend enough time in Rehoboth to effectively perform the duties of Commissioner. Therefore, I must resign my position as Commissioner of Rehoboth Beach effective upon the appointment of my successor by the Commissioners." Ms. Shreeve was previously a Commissioner and is currently serving her second term on the Planning Commission; she will step down from that position on Monday. Bill Richardson has also resigned from the Planning Commission, citing family and professional obligations. He will be replaced at Monday’s Board of Commissioners meeting by Joan M. Hess. Glen C. Mandalas, an attorney in the Dover firm of Prickett, Jones & Elliott, will be sworn in as the new City Solicitor at Monday’s Board of Commissioners meeting. The 36 year old Mandalas is a 2002 graduate of Widener University School of Law. The Dover resident is married with two children. Further details of the Board of Commissioners’ meeting can be seen in the Agenda posted at http://www.rbhomeowners.com/gov.html.
